The Sinestro Corps War reads like a comic book version of a summer blockbuster movie. There were a lot of battles and explosions, but not a lot of detailed plot. It was an entertaining story, but the flash didn't leave much of an impression. Until I read the story, I had realized that it was such an obvious set up for Blackest Night, which makes this story seem a lot less important in its own right. I rated the first volume lower than the second, only because it suffered from too much repetitive exposition in my opinion. I've always loved the Alan Moore story that this whole event is based on. While it was neat to see those ideas developed further, part of me wishes that DC would have left the mystery untapped. It was much more foreboding when left undisturbed.
