Eleanor is brought to life in this imaginative relationship of character and fact. having researched a little of Eleanor already, this book put emotion and life into what otherwise might be just another history lesson.

On the counter-side, although this is a smooth blend of a real character and what we know of Eleanor's life, there were still points where I wondered if this could be truly her. It is easy to believe she was this woman in the story, but it is just as easy for me to believe she was a manipulative and selfish woman as well. I guess it just goes to show that we may never know what someone really is about, unless we have a true account from themselves.

I received this book through the "First Reads" program. Thank you Miss English!
