Three Cups of Tea was a very interesting book for me. When I started reading the book we had done research on Greg Mortenson. After watching the story on 60 minuets my view on the book changed. I found his story very interesting tho. It was heartwarming to read about his quest to make better lives and give these kids education. The book starts with Greg attempting to climb the mountain K2 in honor of his sister Christina. Upon getting lost he stumbled into a poor village. There he met the leaders if the village and discovered the harsh conditions the students had to study in. He made a promise to the children to build them a school. After being nearly broke and selling almost everything he owned Greg returned to the village, Korphe, and built a school. Many people from other countries learned about Greg and asked for his help. After creating the Central Asia Institute organization Greg received many donations and still continues to build schools for children in need. I only gave this book three stars because the story was good, but the book was poorly written.
