Any book that is this shamelessly, unapologetically decadent gets a 5-star review in my regard. It's a guilty pleasure, like non-diet Coca-Cola, or donuts. It basically follows the adventures and exploits of several wealthy, priveleged teenagers (they are referred to as "The Chosen Ones") as they sleep around, shop around, get drunk, backstab, and act like shallow fools. There's a few likable characters in the series, just to keep you from totally hating all of them; characters who have drive and talent and conscience and a flair for non-conformity. Between those compelling characters and the details of how the shallow half lives, I'm hooked.
