Ten Thousand Words (Ten Thousand #1)
by

This was the first book I've read from this author, and considering how much I enjoyed this story, it won't be the last.
It had eveything I like in a book... instalust, sexy times, drama, angst, strong main characters, chemistry, suspense, mystery, etc.
Xanthe was an interesting character. She was strong, feisty, intelligent, independent, fiercely loyal, sexy, and cool. Oliver, although he was a tad younger (26 to her 29), was handsome, smart, gifted, loyal, sweet, considerate, protective, and very alpha. The two of them just worked. There was no room to doubt their connection, their chemistry, or their love.
The author did a great job with both character and plot development. For instance, the side characters played such a huge role in the story that it feels wrong to characterize them as minor players. They were so much more than that. I couldn't help but be intrigued by each of their back stories.
I was a bit disappointed with the ending. There was all this lead up to Oliver finally finding out what the real deal was with Ricki, Ronen, and Rex, and their secret work, but this wasn't revealed to the reader. BOO!!
I'm guessing more information will be available within other books in the series so I'm consoling myself with that.
