An interesting book with a number of compelling characters. My only complaint is that despite the scale and importance of the events portrayed in the novel the scope still somehow felt very small... perhaps it is because so much time was spent on the internal life of the main character and so much of her time is spent in what is essentially one enormous building.

Still, I enjoyed it and am curious as to what else the author has written.
