At first I didn't think I was going to like the three main characters, three women gathering in their husband's favorite place after his death. These women at first seemed like very Flat Stanley characters that I didn't care about. However, as I kept reading, the women all took on more depth and I began to care about their fate.
Deacon Thorpe, the husband they all shared, not simultaneously, was deeply affected by an event from his childhood that overshadowed his relationship with all three women and the child each had. In turn, the changes to each of the women's lives caused them to mistrust the other two.
This book was a fast read that won't overly tax your brain. A nice diversion if you need a break from heavier reading.
