really liked it

For anyone interested in reading a terrific book on the relationship between woman and horses, without sentimentality or woo woo, this is it. As gently as young Martha Lessen teaches horses how to do their jobs in Oregon during the days of the Great War, Molly Glass tells her story. The writing is beautiful, evocative of a forgotten time in American history when people worked out their lives against a rough and unforgiving landscape with hard scrabble living and the impact of world events.
A must read for anyone who loves horses and great writing.
