This is a book for pastors or leaders in the Church. If that's not you, then don't bother reading it.

This book is helpful and extremely problematic at the same time. As a pastor, I was helped by the challenge to simplicity, to examine the 'ways' our church lives and engages in mission.

There are many weaknesses of this book (You can read reviews online that lay these weaknesses out better than I can here). Though the authors' mean well, and they seem to be researchers par excellence, they do not handle the Scripture well. In fact, I've recommended this book to some leaders in our church, but with this caveat: "Whenever they cite Scripture, just ignore what they say." Not the kind of recommendation a book on how to run a Church wants to have...
