it was amazing

I re-read 'Life Together' because my church is emphasizing 'community' this year. it, of course, is a classic.

While it takes a while to get used to Bonhoeffer's style (he writes like the Apostle John), he elucidates several key aspects of Christian community. I would highly recommend this for any who want to understand what kind of relationships Christians are meant to have with one another.

Bonhoeffer also teaches on the activities that Christians commonly engage in (i.e. prayer, worship, singing, etc.) There isn't a church around today that couldn't benefit from his talk on these practical matters. Though much of Bonhoeffer's coaching in prayer and worship will be foreign to many readers, any community that implements at least some of his recommendations will benefit.

The reality is that what Bonhoeffer describes in this book barely exists in American churches today.

I was challenged and encouraged... and I highly recommend this book.
