really liked it

I know I'm supposed to rave about this book because it's Tolkien, but, I can't. Sorry.

I didn't particularly care for the first story, about Wooton Major, it just fell short. It was ok. Nothing spectacular. Maybe partly due to not feeling well and just being ready to put the littles to bed. IDK.

But the second one about the Farmer Giles took me by surprise! I expected something entirely different and instead found myself grinning again and again at the absurdities and cleverly crafted sentences to major on the anti-heroics of the story. Bravo, Tolkien! A fantastically funny fantasy. Yes, I did enjoy it.
