really liked it
bookshelves: published-2016, young-adult, retellings, mystery, read-2018

I almost DNF'd this book because Watson is so unlikable in the beginning - obsessed with Holmes and lovestruck before he even meets her. It is off putting. There is also a rape that.....wow.

Still, I've DNF'd too many books recently so I pushed through. Even though the friendship is a bit unearned at the beginning, I liked it towards the end. I like it enough I'll read book two but I dont necessarily recommend it.

Tracy (A Good Novel) Thanks for the rape headsup. I've had this one on my list a while and had no idea. :/

message 2: by Beau (new) - added it

Beau North Have you read Sherry Thomas’s Lady Sherlock series?! Soooooo gooooood.

Meghan @Tracy it doesn't happen in the book, but is mentioned quite a bit. And yeah, I'm kind of surprised few reviews mention it??

@Beau I haven't, but looking now!!
