it was amazing

Heather O'Neill captures the way children of addicts feel about their parents: some crazy mix of fear, anger, and adoration. Her prose is brilliant and heartbreaking.

Unfortunately, due to a plot twist halfway through the book, I had to quit reading. Anyone sensitive to the sexual exploitation of 13-year-olds should probably steer clear.
