it was ok

I just couldn't finish this book, though I really wanted to do so! The story is so fascinating (Jews, defiant, creating a whole town inside a forest during Nazi occupation), the Bielski brothers so interesting, the individual stories within the story interesting was written too dryly and academically for me to continue after I'd put it down. In theory, a great read. In reality, quite dry, almost clinical, and a book that actually dulled the fascinating story of the Bielski brothers' defiance. As a side note, I taught the grandson of one of the Bielski brothers in class in Israel, and this is what opened up my curiosity about their story.
