it was amazing

If you like slow burn romances with a tons of metafictional elements and LOL moments, then you'll definitely want to check out The Replacement Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts.

Vivian is a bookstore employee, a book club organizer, and a romance novel book blogger, so as you can imagine, this book amounts to a love letter from the author to her fans (and if you weren't a fan of Lisa's yet, you probably will be after you experience all things Vivian and Dallas). She makes tons of bad choices when it comes to love, but she also calls herself out on it when she says she's a TSTL heroine (a.k.a. Too Stupid to Live), and had this reader laughing, not frustrated.

Dallas is a herd-hot guy who is new in town and who is a genius when it comes to computers, so he is hired by Vivian's mom to develop a database system for their bookstore. He is often described in reference to his glasses, which calls to mind a Clark Kent / Superman vibe that many readers won't want to miss.

If you love McNerdy guys, then don't miss this one, coming on September 6th!

Vivvy has some great, snarky lines, and her friends are there for her, even when they know she's probably making a mistake. Love how Dallas makes Vivvy feel all the feels...even if she doesn't want to admit it and risk heartbreak. (Also, as someone who grew up on Star Trek Next Generation, there's lots of references.)"

Also, how cute, if misguided, is Vivian, but her mistakes are kind of the best. Bonus: celebrity sightings and having your friends sign to prove they're true and people trying to guess the pseudonym that Vivian's mom writes under and the secrecy oath."
