it was amazing
bookshelves: biography
Read in June, 2002

Written by (arguably) the best biographer in America today, this account leaves no stone unturned. The most fascinating part is the section concerning the off-again, on-again relationship with Marilyn Monroe. He does an admirable job in building a case for Marilyn having not committed suicide. The section that deals with the years growing up with his older brother Dom in San Francisco are both disturbing and revealing. If you love baseball and get into a good biography, this is to drool over.
