For much of her life, Abby Fraser has been invisible. But now her time has come. After the Great War, she travels with her small son to India, where she hopes to love and be loved by the husband who has lived apart from her from years. But the man she met and married in haste is less than welcoming.

Major Geoff Richards, although shattered by war, takes Abby under his wing. But he can’t protect her from the cruelty of her husband or from secrets with the power to bring disaster on them all.

Christine Lindsay has written a haunting and beautiful tale of life, death and love set during the latter part Britain’s rule of India. Well-researched and with true-to-life characters, this novel transports the reader in vivid detail to the twilight of the British Raj. A plot drawn from deeply human motivations and conflicts plays out against a background of political unrest and international intrigue, racing to a breathless conclusion. I highly recommend Shadowed in Silk by Christine Lindsay to readers who enjoy epic novels set in exotic lands.
