I love Mafia books and this one was okay.

However, as wonderfully written as this story was, I got annoyed real fast with Aria. Like within the first chapter. I got that the author was trying to portray her as young and naive, but why was she acting like she was innocent and above marrying someone in the mafia? She was born in the mafia. She was slated to be married to the man who was next in line to be capo and could do nothing but complain. She was prepared her whole 18 years of life for this. I kept thinking "suck it up buttercup!"

I really liked Luca and wish I could have gotten his pov in order to see more action because there was hardly any in this book. To be honest, it was hard to classify this as a true mafia romance because there was hardly anything happening. There was talk of the Bratva and the Triads, but other than one highly glossed over scene... NADA!! I was looking for the suspense. I was waiting to feel my adrenaline spike. I was disappointed. But... the sex scenes were pretty nice (dude likes his cunnilingus) and I liked seeing Luca's patience with Aria.

I'm sure many crime boss lovers would like this book, maybe even love it.
