it was amazing

This is a very powerful and moving book. The author shows us the progression a young girl takes through life after tragic events. I have not read the first seven books in this series but plan on reading them after this one. The events in this book are so real and true to life as these characters have to go through physical scars but also emotional scars as a result of a kidnapping.
Beth Crandall has already gone through a lifetime of tragedy and abandonment. She was taken from her biological family at three years old, kidnapped and then left. This put her into a group home because she was so little she was unable to tell them who her parents were. She did find some happiness when she met a friend named Hannah who ultimately saved her from a group of boys that left Beth permanently scarred on her face. Years later she finds her biological parents and sister and decides she is ready to see a plastic surgeon. Little does she know that Dr Samuel Benedict will not only heal her scar but also his own. After a friendship ensues she begins to look for her old friend Hannah but this act puts herself and Hannah in a dangerous situation. Will they be saved in time???
Who will be there for them???
