Carol (Reading Ladies)'s Reviews > Lilac Girls
Important and riveting yet an emotionally difficult WW 2 historical fiction read.....probably the most difficult story I've read in this genre.....However, as people committed to truth, a necessary read. Although I had to lightly skim many parts in Herta's chapters, I thoroughly appreciated the three unique perspectives in this well written and researched story. Resiliency of the human spirit always pulls at the heart (lilacs bloom best after the harshest winters), and I also greatly appreciated Caroline's commitment and determination as a global citizen fighting for justice on behalf of people who had no voice.
