it was ok
bookshelves: empires-roman, ebook, erotica

It's a little tough to rate and review a short story whose structure is basically token back stories and character development that would fill a thimble interspersed with tons of mundane, unremarkable sex.

But I'll try.

So the hero, Eratos, is a gladiator (apparently) who used to be a slave in the household of a skeezy Roman who likes to torture and assrape his male servants, usually in front of his poor and innocent (as in undeflowered) wife, the daughter of a senator. Eratos fell in love with her and she with him after one such grueling asspirate ordeal when she was providing the comfort to his hurt. And now, years later, Eratos has tracked the ass pirate to his compound in Antioch where he's planning to kick some butt. The wife Helena says she'll help him, but she doesn't want hubby killed yet: a fortnight of screwing his ex-slave under his own roof is her price. His "Little Roman" (yes, it's referred to as such - mercifully only once, though WHY it's referred to as Roman when he's a Celt makes no sense) springs to attention and they bone like happy little plotting assassins and exchange stilted declarations of love, like:

"I want you. I want to mate with you, but I want you to tremble with ecstasy."

The revenge gets carried out and all is HEA and blah blah blah.
