it was amazing
bookshelves: 2016

What Elephants Know was absolutely beautiful. The story was adventurous, meaningful, and relevant. It was easy to understand and sympathize with the well developed characters, both human and non-human. The underlying themes of patience, karma, buddhism, kindness, and generosity were stated boldly but without force. As an elementary school librarian, I highly recommend this book. I am ordering a copy and plan to encourage my 4th and 5th grade readers to enjoy it, as well as my higher level 3rd graders. I plan to also use this as a read aloud for my two sons, 3rd and 5th grade this summer.
