If you liked Bob Woodward's The Brethren, but you wanted one on the Rehnquist Court, this is it. Toobin focuses on the near-decade wherein the same nine justices stayed on the Court without any shuffling. He bounces around topically and has an eye for exposing the political undercurrents at work in the justices' decision-making. Toobin spends the most time on O'Connor, Kennedy, and Scalia, but seems to have good insight into each of the nine, their habits, philosophies, and personalities.
