really liked it
bookshelves: 20th-century-classic, fantasy

Matilda was born in a self-centered and cheating family which clearly contrasts her personality. She's such an angel that if I were to meet her I would've loved her as much as Miss Honey loved her. This book was such an angel as well. I'm always a sucker for main characters who love to read novel.

At first, I thought this book was surreal, but then I remembered this book was a children's story, so I let it be. Hey, I didn't regret a single thing! There's no magic in the story line but there is magic in the characters' personality, you get me? There's magic in Matilda's selflessness and Miss Honey's caring nature that you can't help but love them dearly. There's also that dark magic you felt with the Trunchbull that made you want to pick up her bun and just throw her away the same way she did with other children. Matilda will always be my favorite Roald Dahl story because this story is magical itself without having any magical worlds.
