A light read, made lighter by the illustrations. It's been a while since I read a book with pictures in it! Glad I got round to reading it. Can't say I laughed out loud, although there are some traits of the English illustrated in this book that still hold true today.

I was mainly interested in the historical nature of the work. Especially how the Pooters entertained themselves in a time before tv, and also how businesses seemed to operate in the evenings and on Christmas day.

A happy ending.
