For a debut novel, Brynn Kelly hit this out the park. I was captivated from the first page. The first scene sets you up to have a great action-packed, thrilling, heart racing, amazing time!
The entire book was go go go and there was never a dull moment. Wonderful job with the pacing here.
As for character development, I'm not sure if it would even be possible to know these characters better than I do right now. Although Holly and Rafe weren't completely relatable, they were extremely likeable and soon after their introduction, I was rooting for them all the way.
Holly was an incredibly strong female lead with a tender and vulnerable side. She was burned by love before and was hesitant to open her heart again. However, Rafe left her with no choice. His Alpha ways totally threw her for a loop and I loved every minute of it! He himself had a tortured past and through torture and brainwashing, he had just about given up on living a normal life or experiencing real human emotions. Until he fell for Holly.
Honestly, there wasn't much to complain about with this book. The biggest issue was the formatting because there were many words that were split in weird places. I'm sure that's an easy fix.
This book was an exciting read and I can't wait to see what's next from this author.
Enjoy!
