really liked it

Read this for our book club. As thrillers go, it was a compelling read. The authors choice of using the narrative of the three women was an interesting way to unfold the story. Each character unreliable for different reasons. My only complaint is that writing the characters in first person this way resulted in a rather didactic narrative.

I read less than a handful of other reviews and was surprised that others compare it to "Gone Girl". I suppose because this novel involves secret lives of spouses/partners it could draw some comparisons, though "Gone Girl" is certainly the worthier read.

That said, I enjoyed the novel and it is very successful as a sound and compelling thriller.
