2 1/2 stars.

I wanted to like this book. I really did. It's beautiful, for one thing. I thought that once I moved beyond the underage sex component of the book that there would be this gleaming jewel of a story. Instead, it feels like a gem never polished or refined. The book gets so wrapped up in its gratuitous sex scenes that it forgets to tell a coherent story, and the end rushes through any of the major character break-throughs.

I'll summarize with spoilers below, just in case you don't want to waste your time on this one.

The problem I have with the whole thing is that it's REALLY close to being an emotionally impactful, beautiful story, and then sort of loses its own train of thought. I just wanted more from it, delivered with slightly less sex.
