** spoiler alert ** I far preferred the sister book: Mr. Cavendish I Presume, which is from Thomas and Amelia's storyline.

The Lost Duke of Wyndham featured Grace, the paid companion to the duke's grandmother and Jack, a man who had no idea he was the true duke. The characters are good but not great. The grandmother is one dimensional, which was okay in the sister book but didn't work as well in this version. Jack was a bit over the top at times, and the ending was - well, weird. The premise was that the grandmother was willing to risk everything, including the family's reputation, which she constantly berates Amelia about in MCIP, all in the hopes that the son of her favorite son will be duke without knowing anything about him. She'll trust the family fortune and future to someone she doesn't even know? Her motivations were weak and needed something more solid behind them.

It was a light and fun read, but Cavendish is much better.
