Published in 1989, this bk uses a term I haven't seen anywhere else so I reckon it didn't catch on much. I like it, though. I tend to think of my 1st 3 super-8 films (1974-1978) as "materialist" - regardless of whether my use of the term fits Gidal's or not. At any rate, yet another highly serious & specialized film bk that I'm glad & astounded exists.
