Enjoyable, amusing detective story set in Bent Elbow, Nevada in 1875.
Maggie Maguire and her cousin Grady Maguire are M. Maguire and Co., Discrett Inquiries, San Francisco. They get hired to track down a young woman who had been captured by Indians when she was 6, found again as an adult and is now heir to quite a lot of money.
What follows is mostly funny, sometimes poignant.
A quick enjoyable read.
