Here's what I was thinking the ENTIRE time while reading this book:

Somehow, someway, I liked this book. I'm still not sure why. It could be because I tend to like the work that LP Lovell produces. Maybe it's because Blake's character embraced life in a way I never did or ever will, and in a way that though I don't condone it, I can appreciate. It could be because... I really don't know.
What I do know is that if it were up to Blake's character alone I wouldn't have enjoyed this book. I didn't like her. She fought against being stereotyped as a rich, entitled, spoiled brat but that's exactly who she was. She didn't become an addict to escape the pain or memories of a traumatic event. The worst abuse she suffered was neglect, which isn't nice, but c'mon she's rich! She didn't lack food, clothing, shelter, money, drugs... Poor little rich girl. My parents don't love me. Boo-freaking-hoo b*tch. She had two awesome BFFs who thought the world of her but were they enough? No. Did she truly appreciate them? No. She tormented them by abusing herself and making them watch and worry. She's just wonderful.
Rhett was the only reason I liked this book. I would give him 5 stars if I could. He put up with a lot of Blake's crap and seemed to have the patience of a saint. I kept waiting for him to snap, yell, and shake the sh*t out of her lol. Despite what he was going through and what he had to deal with (view spoiler) he was there for her time and time again. Although it would have cut the story short, I was pretty much begging him to leave her dumb ass alone.
Honestly, I didn't like Blake until the very end when she said "Life is too short to settle for anything less than explosive. Many things in life are mediocre, but love shouldn't be one of them, and the way Rhett loved me... he could set the world on fire."
That's it. I loved Rhett and tolerated Blake for his sake. Besides, his sex scenes were freaking hot!! BONUS!!
Enjoy! xo["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
