it was amazing

Full disclosure: I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Red Pearl begins with Anotnia Korelli escaping her life as a priestess's apprentice...and stumbling right into a robbery in progress. she manages to save the victim, an ungrateful Robin Watkins. The robbers took a map from Robin, and he convinces Antonia that she must help him get it back.

It turns out that the map is to the legendary Red Pearl, a priceless treasure that many have lost their lives trying to find. Robin and Antonia--whom he calls Annie, much to her chagrin--embark on a series of adventures ranging from crossing a desert in a horseless carriage, to a desert island. Honestly, the best way I can describe this book is a mash up between Pirates of the Carribean and The Princess Bride. It has romance, swashbuckling adventure, and enough sense to not take itself too seriously and let the reader get lost in the story. Highly recommended.
