really liked it

The shaman bugged me, he was vague and irritating, and I understood it for his character, but I've known people like that in real life and I find them vague and irritating, too. Which means the characterizations in the book were great. I think this book is a great read for some reluctant reader boys, although they'd have to be into the fantasy genre a bit to like it, yet I don't really want to label this a fantasy book, it's more adventure than anything. And then there's the science stuff, too...and a bit of historical fiction...see? Great book!
