I'm going to be honest here... although I rated this the same as the first book (Omerta), I didn't like it as much. That is not to say I didn't like it, but I expected this to be more like what I had already experienced. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
In the first book, we got a brief introduction to Enzo and Frankie, and I liked them. But I didn't have a lot of love for Frankie in this book. For someone who is against hugs and feelings, she was pretty freaking emotional. And how she dealt with Enzo kinda pissed me off because I am not a fan of games. Mind games are for immature losers IMO so having her try to use her brain or manipulate his emotions in any way took away from her likability for me. Enzo wasn't the greatest hero either, however, I liked how protective he's always been towards "Franny".
Thank the good Lord that I got to see Carlo, Mia, and Angelo in this book. It helped me swallow this a bit easier. I'm interested to find out if there will be a story featuring Antonio and Mallory (or if one already exists. I obviously haven't done my research).
Overall, a good read. This was a story with tons of potential, starring a psychopath that you would least suspect (unless you read the epilogue of the first book).
Enjoy! xo
