This book gets 4.5 adoring stars!! I'll get into why I docked half a star in a sec.
So when I started this book, my heart was still aching. I wanted to hate every single thing to do with AJ but I just couldn't. And with the way things played out, I wished there were another way. But alas, the story continued on.
The weird revenge plot throughout the book frigged with my mind. I'm glad to have received all the background information, and I was okay with learning more about Knox (not really. Nothing about him was worthy of my interest).
It was great to get more of Jude/Jackson again. I loved how the author explored his own episodes of self-doubt, especially because throughout the series we see him as nothing but dominant and confident. His relationship with Ryn was sweet and I loved what he was willing to do for those he loved.
The writing once again was phenomenal. The book evokes a lot of emotions, though not as much as book 2. However, and here's the reason for the demerit, I felt like the ending was too pat. I wanted to see how Luke and Jessica reconnected. (view spoiler) I feel like the story was left unfinished. I still want more.
Ah well, guess I really do have to suck it. Regardless, I loved the series and I'm excited for what's next from Mrs. Jewel.
Enjoy! xo
