Hex on the Beach is a fun light paranormal mystery. While it is obviously laying a solid foundation for the future, I found that if flowed smoothly and presented plenty of action as well as delightful interactions among the characters.

Marketing expert and amateur mixologist, Lily Locke, discovers that her talents for creating new drinks comes from a surprise source, her witch heritage. A heritage of which she had no knowledge and in which has very little believe until she is carried into that world by bus, no stops, as in her amazing departure from the bus is what finally convinces her that magic does exist. Once on the Isle she meets and, mostly, falls in love with a family that was something else of which she had no knowledge. But! She refuses to fall in love with anyone else! For one thing she is a little busy learning her crafts and staying alive!

She and her cousins are a little immature for their ages, but I suspect that is one of the growth issues that will work itself out as she becomes settled into her new life.
