I started this book earlier this evening and I'm already almost halfway finished. Having seen so much news video of the recent Japan tsunami probably enhances and intensifies the images in my head as I read this fictional account of a tsunami heading toward Hawaii. It's well-written so far.

I'm done!

I finished Rogue Wave in less than 24 hours, which is unusual for me these days. I hadn't read a disaster story in quite awhile and I enjoyed the excitement. Kind of Michael Crichton-ish. No dinosaurs, true, but like Jurassic Park, something huge and roaring and lethal was nipping at the characters' heels as they ran like hell. The story takes place over a period of less than 2 hours, so there's not a lot of time for character development, but Morrison makes them real and appealing and you can't help but worry about their survival.
