The Bricks That Built the Houses
It's rare that I can actually picture characters, but Kate Tempest generously brings them to life against a London that's neither postcard-perfect nor merely a convenient backdrop. There were a few poetic turns of phrase and plays on words where I was like "...heh". And the ending was horribly rushed. But overall, I was pretty invested in this and always keen to keep going back to this whenever I had a spare moment.
