really liked it
bookshelves: historical, young-adult

This is another book read long ago for a young adult fiction course. And again, I can't remember a lot of detail. I do remember being a little scandalized by the idea. Like most every American, I've been raised to revere and honor our founding fathers. So to read this...well. They were human, too. So it is a bit controversial, but it was well written. And I actually remember reading it!

Lisa I was a HUGE Ann Rinaldi fan as a teen. Being a History graduate myself I have to say my favorite "history" book on all this Jefferson/Hemings stuff is The Hemings of Monticello by Annette Gordon Reed. AMAZING book and very well written. Even if you're not a history buff, she does such a great job of making it more of story than an actual history book. I highly recommend it.
