** spoiler alert ** Ugh. I know chick-lit isn't ever going to be some sort of fantastic work of art, but this wasn't even a middle-of-the-road-okay book. There were just too many questionable details for me to enjoy this book.

First, if Reddy stole all of BeBe's money, possessions and property, how come he didn't take the restaurant and the inn? That was never explained, not to mention the fact that they just glossed over how and why she acquired the inn to begin with. And then, how come she had to close down the restaurant? I'm guessing it wasn't profitable on it's own, but again, that was never explained.

Second, who was "Roland"? I know that they were talking about Reddy/Roy/Rory, but "Roland" was never an established cover name. And yet, towards the end of the book during the Rory phase, they called him "Roland" three or four times. What? Was that an editing mistake or did I completely miss something?

Third, the romance between BeBe and Harry switched gears way too fast for my liking. In true chick-lit form, they dislike each other at first meeting and end up together in the end. But, that transition period of "Wait, he's not so bad, maybe there's more to him that I had originally thought" never really happened. They went from begrudgingly working together because the situation demanded it to wanting each other so very badly without a hint of change. Too formulaic and forced for my liking.

And finally fourth. The main character is BeBe. To me, this is pronounced like Bee-Bee. However, about 200 pages in, she finally mentions that it's actually pronounced Bay-Bay. Seriously? I mean it's fine if that's how it's pronounced, but why wasn't that little detail mentioned back in the very first paragraph or two? After 200 pages I couldn't make the change in my mind and kept on calling her Bee-Bee.

Sorry, not my cup of tea.

Lisa You must have read fast - all your questions were actually explained in the book. Really. Every one. Some of them not at the time they were first brought up, but they were explained. And there was, to my mind, adequate build up btwn BeBe and Harry--there were a lot of pages where they were considering each other. Just to state another side....
