I know what you're thinking, you read teen books all the time but have never ever read The Chocolate War, the book that started an entire genre? Well, it's never too late to pick up this teen classic. The main setting of this book is the Catholic all boys high school that is being run by Brother Leon while the head priest is in the hospital. The school is also unofficially run by the Vigil, an elite group of boys who come up with embarrassing and tricky assignments for other boys in the school to complete. During a fund raising campaign for the school, the Vigil assigns Jerry to not participate in the chocolate sale for ten days. This assignment spirals out of control when Jerry decides he won't participate at all. This is a great story about authority.
