Gosh darn it but this book had quite a bit of potential. I liked it but...
For 99.9% of this book, I felt bad for the hero. The entire book is told from his POV and his life was a complete shit storm. Everything bad that could happen to him typically did. He had the absolute worst luck of any hero I've ever read!
What I liked:
* Ummmmm... the cover obviously
* Bobby's big heart. He became a con because of his conscience and he continues to let his heart be his guide
* how much Bobby comes to care for Carly
* Carly's big heart
* the fact that Bobby is this "tough" guy but he's afraid of needles and flying lol
* the friendship and family feel of all the men who worked Carly's security detail. Jack and Ryan were truly amazing secondary characters
* the suspenseful plot helped to keep this story interesting
What I didn't like:
* how freaking depressing Bobby's life was
* I'm not convinced of Bobby's and Carly's great love story
* how many details were glossed over in this story. (view spoiler)
* how frustrated I felt at the end of the book. Yes, both MCs get their HFN, which is great, but I was left unfulfilled
Overall, a decent read. I don't regret my purchase. However, I need to stop being a cover ho and take better care in choosing my next book. I'm totally deluding myself. I will never stop being a cover ho!
