A crew of elderly academics, some of whom have intelligence backgrounds, investigate a mysterious, possibly sinister, Swiss pharmaceutical firm. It all seems harmless, until one of them dies mysteriously. The authorities put it down to an accident, or maybe suicide, but his friends know better. Adam, a young academic, and Clare, a nurse in London, were friends of the dead man. As they get involved with the investigation of his death, they find themselves in danger.
