really liked it

Yo! Yes? is a book of few words, yet still manages to convey its message with clarity. Chris Raschka wrote a colorful, inspirational story about acceptance and discovering friendship using only one, sometimes two words per page. It is written as a dialogue between two young boys, one black and one white, in which one boy is noticeably lonely and the other offers friendship. Along with the words, the the pictures are minimal. Bright and colorful backgrounds house animated drawings of the two boys and usually nothing else. This story is creative and can teach children the importance of accepting others simply out of kindness.
