it was ok
bookshelves: secretly-read-ing

[peppered with spoilers] Here I think Patricia Briggs might be attempting something that I've never witnessed in this genre--the heroine settling down, coupling, nesting. The only thing left is for Mercy to get preggers--with twins!--which I suspect may happen in River Marked--haven't read it yet, but I suppose I have to at this point. I like completeness! But in doing so, she's having to wrap up the fortunes of her other potential mates--either by killing them or tastefully pairing them off (a lost love, etc.). Briggs has chosen the latter.

So I'll end this review as Alice might muse, Curiouser and Curiouser!
