If *this* is the best we can come up with to replace Jane Austin in today's time, then count me out. Seriously? The technical writing behind this was HORRIBLE. The author switched between characters seemingly every other paragraph and there were SO many little players I had a hard time keeping track of who was who. The story was lame. The writing was, at times, sloppy and unimaginative.

The story was pretty standard quo. I saw it unfold before I was even a third of the way through. And the author's protrayal of how old George was was flawed. 39??? He sounded and felt more like he was in his 50's.

This was a Reader's Choice book for the library and I can think of a few others I would put ahead of this read. Embarassing to think that this would be considered good literature.
