This was my first novel by Margaret Watson and definitely won't be my last one.

Raine is a strong character and she is seeking revenge on her own for her sister's murder . She is convinced that her brother-in-law killed Genie and the law failed to do justice in this case. Raine decides to go on a hunt and find any prove that might prove her theory and put the murderer behind bars.

Connor Donovan is a Chicago police detective and ever since he laid his eyes on Reine he knew that she was up to something. Connor noticed her strong personality and he seems to be attracted to her coldness like a moth to the flame. Reine keeps pushing him away, but the more she does that, the more Connor is determined to discover what's behind all those protective shields.
I just love how these two are strong characters, yet they are completely different. They complete each other perfectly. Raine is fiercely independent and stubborn, while Connor is patient and persistent.
This book can be read as a stand-alone .
