I got this book from my parents for for my birthday after they heard it reviewed on Science Friday. I loved it! It's not like any other book. It's a poetic meditation on the scientific and love life of Marie & Pierre Curie. Science becomes beauty, radiation becomes love, and then the a mushroom cloud. Marie's life is full of tragedy but is beautiful, and her life's work is fused with her love for Pierre. The pace of the book is slow but luxurious. Every page is illustrated and it's impossible not to linger.
