Makers was a fun read. It's full of Doctorow's usual excitement about technology and ideas, but couched in terms of human characters and interactions.

I didn't like this book as much as For the Win or Little Brother , but it was still quite enjoyable. The author's optimism comes through a bit more keenly and, IMO, a bit less realistically than in those other two books, and makes the who thing difficult to immerse yourself in.
